Importance Of Public Investment In The Digitalization Of Citizen Security In Peru
Abstract
To facilitate social progress, economic growth, and increased public trust in government, the pace of Peru's digital transformation accelerated in 2020. The use of digital technologies is now mandatory rather than optional, as doing so improves citizens' standard of living, while not doing so exacerbates existing socio-economic inequalities. The resulting conclusion is that digitalisation should be seen as an opportunity to improve governance by reorganising public services and making greater use of digital technologies to achieve greater efficiency and the digital well-being of citizens at minimal cost. Bridging gaps in digital ecosystems is essential for digital transformation, which requires improvements in both high-quality communication infrastructure and scale. The foundations of digital citizenship in Peru are still in the process of being built due to the gaps that currently exist.
