Abstract

Intersectionality is a critical framework that acknowledges the interconnected nature of social identities and experiences, such as race, gender, class, sexuality, and more. It provides a lens through which one can understand the complexities of multiculturalism and diversity within Indian American diasporic writing. This paper aims to explore the concept of intersectionality and its relevance in analyzing the representation of multiculturalism and diversity in this specific literary context. The focus of this paper will be on Amrita Trasi's novel, "The Colour of Our Sky." Set within the Indian American diaspora, the novel presents a rich tapestry of characters and experiences, offering an opportunity to delve into intersectional perspectives. By examining the intersections of race, gender, class, and other identities, one can gain a deeper understanding of how multiculturalism and diversity are portrayed in Indian American diasporic literature.
