Abstract

Divorce has several negative effects on both the divorced man divorced women, children and society in general. Divorce causes great tragedies in society. It causes family disintegration and the spread of community crimes that are often due to marital disputes. Divorce also causes mental illnesses of the woman, lack of self-actualization and loss of self-confidence, as well as many other mental illnesses in addition to the material destitution that afflicts her after divorce. The same mental illnesses of the divorced woman are found in the divorced, such as depression, loss of confidence, excessive nervousness and constant emotion, as well as the great financial losses incurred by the divorced and the harm all of the children. They understand the real tragedy of divorce and the first victim of it and because of it, their fate is deprivation, homelessness and loss. As for society, it took its share, as we mentioned earlier, of crimes, problems and disagreements. The study also relied on the well-known geographical approaches, the descriptive approach, the quantitative approach and the analytical approach, in addition to the statistical analysis by the Statistical Program (SPSS).Therefore, this study shed light on the most important effects of divorce on the family in terms of father, mother and the status of children after divorce and the effect  of this phenomenon on society in general in order to reach solutions that contribute to solving this phenomenon.
