Reimagining English Teaching: Integrating Narrative Storytelling (Dastaan) For Creativity And Learner Engagement
Abstract
The current teaching methods in the English language classroom fail to achieve their primary goals of developing student imagination and maintaining learner interest. The article recommends combining narrative storytelling traditions, such as Dastaan, with English language education to enhance learning environments. The integration of narrative storytelling's creative aspects into the English curriculum may enable teachers to create effective educational environments that enhance language competency and cultural awareness. A system of Elementary narrative storytelling can employ active methods to integrate role-directed stories with strategic improvement approaches, such as group writing and participatory action, in educational institutions. Such instructional procedures may help students develop new English stories by preserving the vibrant, emotional, and creative elements of their cultural heritage. Through the diversity of the student body in narrative storytelling, students can develop enhanced language skills, allowing them to embrace new concepts more easily. The first application testing phase reveals varying levels of academic participation among [1]university students as expressive learning activities trigger their interest. This system utilizes spoken language development methods, which enhance writing skills and ultimately lead to improved proficiency in both verbal and written communication. This investigation demonstrates how narrative storytelling when implemented within English educational systems, enhances students' academic performance and their ability to express themselves orally. Through narrative storytelling, students develop storytelling practices that enable teachers to create culturally responsive classrooms with engaging, active discussions.
