The Unbroken Chain: Conflict, Occupation, And Violence In Afghanistan
Abstract
Since the Taliban’s takeover in 2021 stability has become a complex and fragile phenomena. The Taliban’s authoritarian rule is marked by human right abuses, economic crisis, and suppressed political dissent, media and civil liberties. International [1]sanctions and threats from extremists’ groups like ISIS-K further exacerbate the situation, raising questions about the true extent of peace in Afghanistan. While active war has ceased, yet incomplete governance, international isolation, internal opposition and humanitarian crisis indicates threats to the enduring stability. This research will explore the tensions between the forced stability and the true peace highlighting the need for sustainable political and economic reforms to prevent the new conflicts and instability in Afghanistan.
