The Trend Of Atheism In The Modern World And The Islamic Perspective
Abstract
In the contemporary era, atheism has witnessed a significant rise globally, influenced by rapid scientific advancements, globalization, and the pervasive presence of social media. This trend poses unique intellectual and spiritual challenges to the Muslim Ummah, especially among the youth. This study explores the multifaceted factors contributing to the growth of atheistic thought in the modern world, including secular education, technological progress, and cultural shifts. It critically examines the Islamic perspective on atheism by drawing from the Qur’an, Hadith, and classical as well as contemporary Islamic scholarship. The research aims to articulate a comprehensive Islamic response that addresses both the philosophical and emotional dimensions of atheism. By fostering an informed dialogue, the study seeks to equip the Muslim community with intellectual tools to engage effectively with atheistic ideologies, reinforcing faith while promoting reason and spirituality in the modern context.
