An Analytical Study Of Ethical And Legal Dimensions Of Cybercrimes In Islamic Jurisprudence
Abstract
This essay examines Islamic teachings and values in relation to modern problems like data theft, electronic money laundering, cyber drug trafficking, and intellectual property infringement. Examining the moral and legal foundations developed in Islamic jurisprudence—which emphasizes the value of justice, honesty, and society welfare—it denounces these actions. The paper tries to illustrate the moral imperatives[1] against partaking in or facilitating such criminal actions in the digital age through a critical analysis of pertinent scriptures from the Qur'an and Hadith. It also addresses how these teachings relate to contemporary law enforcement and policy-making, arguing in favor of an all-encompassing strategy that respects Islamic morality while taking into account the complexity of crimes motivated by technology.
