Evaluating Healthcare Quality And Accessibility In Saudi Arabia: A Review Of Regional Initiatives And Challenges In The Qassim Region
Abstract
This review explores healthcare quality and accessibility in the Qassim region of Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the region’s healthcare initiatives, achievements, and persistent challenges. The Qassim region serves as a critical case study for understanding the implementation of national healthcare strategies under Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. Through an analysis of regional policies, infrastructure development, and public health programs, this manuscript highlights the strides made in improving healthcare delivery while also identifying areas requiring attention. Persistent challenges such as rural healthcare disparities, workforce shortages, and limited public health literacy are examined in detail. The review highlights the critical need to overcome barriers in healthcare delivery to establish a more equitable and efficient system. It provides evidence-based recommendations aimed at guiding policymakers and healthcare providers in improving service quality, fostering innovation, and ensuring sustainable healthcare development for all residents of the Qassim region. Key recommendations include strategic investments in rural healthcare infrastructure, targeted workforce development programs, public health education initiatives, and the integration of sustainable healthcare technologies. By addressing these priorities, the Qassim region can serve as a model for advancing equitable and effective healthcare systems across Saudi Arabia. This review contributes to the ongoing dialogue on regional healthcare progress within the Kingdom, offering practical insights and actionable strategies to support the realization of Vision 2030’s healthcare objectives and the broader goal of sustainable development.
