Abstract

Based on social learning theory, the current research investigates the relationship of responsible leadership over unethical pro-family behaviour (UPFB) in the Public Sector Higher Education Institutions of Pakistan. Additionally, it investigates the role of moral disengagement in the relationship between responsible leadership and UPFB. The study is based on quantitative data collected through questionnaires from employees working in the Public sector HEIs of Pakistan. The findings reveal that responsible leadership negatively affects UPFB of employees. Moreover, moral disengagement was found to mediate the relationship between responsible leadership and UPFB such that responsible leadership shapes moral engagement of employees that make them refrain from engaging in UPFB. The study offers implications for HEIs of Pakistan.
