Evaluating High School Digital Technology Textbooks In The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia Based On Cyber Security Learning Standards
Abstract
The research aimed to present cyber security learning standards and reveal their availability in high school digital technology books in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To achieve the research goal, a descriptive approach was adopted using a content analysis card through a list of (96) standards, which included three concepts: computer systems, security, and digital citizenship. The sample was chosen intentionally and consisted of two digital technology textbooks (1) and (2). After monitoring the frequencies and calculating the percentages, the research results concluded that the percentages for learning cyber security standards for the secondary level were not balanced in the content of the research sample, as they came at a shallow level in all concepts, with a percentage of (10, 85%) in the first concept (computer systems), and (1.16%) in the second concept (security), while the third concept (digital citizenship) came in (0.33%), with a total availability rate of (15.35%). Based on these results, the research presented recommendations and suggestions.
