Abstract

Urdu novel is a product of the nineteenth century, in which among the novelists Deputy Nazir Ahmad, Ratnath Sarsar, Mirza Muhammad Hadi Raswa, Abdul Halim Sharar etc. wrote Urdu novels. In which Nazir Ahmad wrote a reform novel while Ratnath Sarsar wrote in Lucknow. Making the dying civilization his subject, in the same period, Mirza Muhammad Hadi Ruswa drew everyone's attention by writing Omrao Jaan Ada, on the contrary, Abdul Halim Sharar's novels of Islamic history are more common here.After the beginning of the progressive movement, the themes and styles of the Urdu novel changed, in which there was a group of writers, Munshi Prem chand was creating novels in his realistic style. So it was there that Krishna chandr was developing the style of his novel in a romantic style. In the same way, Rajinder Singh Bedi was describing the problems and customs of the villages of Punjab in his novel Ek Chadar Meli Si. The burden of women's problems and their themes was taken up by Ismat Chughatai and Quratul Ain Haider, and their own writings. filled the foothills of the Urdu novel.

Among the writers after 1980, Shmuel Ahmed, Hussain-ul-Haq, Ghazanfar, Pesham Afaqi, and Musharraf Alam Zoqi gave rise to the Urdu novel with their rich pen, which we know today as the century of fiction. The tradition of novel writing in the nineteenth ce[1]ntury. This tradition, which had started, stepped forward with all its brilliance till the threshold of the 21st century. Writers under the influence of the progressive movement and the partition of India introduced Urdu novels with new twists and new dimensions on both the subject and expression levels. The direction of the novel stopped when it came to the subject of partition. But the writers after 1980 presented the new story in the novel, the new art of telling it, the intervention in human life, social psychological and class entanglements all in a new way.

Musharraf Alam Zoqi was fond of reading and writing since his childhood. He grew up in a scholarly and literary family. He was not allowed to go out, so he became friends with books and at the age of eleven, he wrote a story. "Jaltay Bujhtay Deep" was written for radio and at the age of just seventeen he wrote his first novel "Oqabi Ankhen". Zoqi took to his pen after education and never looked back.
